Iberostar Obzor Beach hotel
is a part of Iberostar Obzor Beach & Izgrev hotel complex
(official category - 3 stars, Iberostar category - 4 stars) situated
very close to the sea shore, within the Golden sands resort, 18 km from
the city of Varna and 28 km from Varna airport.
The beach in front of the hotel is wide covered with fine and clean
sand. This makes the place perfect for families with little children. A
regular mini-train travels from the hotel to the resort center, which
can be easily reached walking along the seashore promenade.
The hotel is a 9-floor modern building, built and furnished in 2000. All
guests are welcome from March till the end of October in 246 double and
3 single cozy rooms with sea and park view. The number of double rooms
includes 30 family rooms with connecting door. The hotel offers 8 luxury
apartments, 4 of them with 2 bedrooms. All rooms have balconies. There
are a large foyer and a lobby-bar in the hotel ground floor, decorated

The hotel is a 7-floor modern building, built and furnished in 2001. All
guests are welcome from March till the end of October in 233 double and
10 single cozy rooms with sea and park view. The number of double rooms
includes 51 family rooms with connecting door. All rooms have
balconies. The hotel offers 9 luxury apartments. There are a large foyer
and a lobby-bar in the hotel ground floor, decorated in pastel colors.

Food and beverage:
The "Izgrev" Main restaurant ( 7:30 - 10:30 & 18:00 - 21:00 )
offers a great variety of international cuisine including more than 100
dishes for hot and cold buffets for breakfast and dinner. The 750-seat
restaurant has magnificent panoramic view to the beach and the sea and a
spacious terrace with 40 seats.
Enjoy lunch or dinner at "Mediterraneo" à-la-carte restaurant, open
every day from 10:00 to 23:00. You will discover the incredible taste of
the Italian cuisine, good service and lovely atmosphere. The restaurant
is very close to "Obzor" outdoor swimming pool, therefore it is a
perfect choice to organize evening parties and open-air cocktails.

Pool-bar ( 9:00 - 18:00 ), "Panorama" terrace - sun terrace with

showers are at guests disposal. For those who prefer to spend the
evening in pleasant and calm atmosphere, there is a piano music at
"Obzor" Lobby-bar from 20:00 to 22:30 or they can visit the Sky-bar (
20:00 - 02:00 ) of the hotel complex. One can spend a lovely evening at
the Animation bar from 20:00 to 22:30 and afterwards to visit the
Nightclub, which is open every night from 22:00 to 04:00. "Izgrev" Snack
bar ( 10:00 - 23:30 ) is situated directly on the beach with live music
from 20:00 - 23:00.

Golden Sands – Modern resort with 50 years of history
and traditions
Golden Sands – Only 18km away from Varna – The city of the oldest golden
treasure in the world .
As an old legend says: pirates digged in huge golden treasure in the seaside
north from Varna. The land took revenge on the bandits and transformed the gold
into wonderful sand.
The resort is a popular tourist destination, drawing many visitors from Poland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, Scandinavia, France, Central
and Eastern Europe,
the Persian Gulf, Israel,
and other countries, attracted by the favorable climate, scenic landscape, and
reasonable prices. And it is also the winner of a "Blue Flag" - a
prestigious international award for environmentally clean resorts. The major
microbiological, physical and chemical readings of the atmosphere, sea and sand
are monitored monthly. Within the resort, several types of transportation are
at the disposal of the guests - velorikshaws, bicycles, mini-trains, and
solar-battery powered taxies.
Resort development
started in 1957 and in about two decades, the place was transformed into a
modern holiday complex with numerous hotels (many open year-round), villas,
apartment buildings, spa centers, restaurants, clubs, casinos, attractions,
shopping centers, and sports facilities, including a yacht marina, a horse
riding school, and the Aquapolis water park. Golden Sands was privatized
in the 1990s and attracted considerable investment through the 2000s. Designed
initially for 13,000 hotel beds, it had over 30,000 beds reported in 2007; according to Varna Tourist Chamber sources, the
actual number was significantly higher , by some unverified critical estimates
even approaching 90,000. Currently, most hotels offer all inclusive vacations
but there are also concerted efforts to reposition the resort as a high-end
destination.
The beach strip in the
resort is 3,5 km long, up to 100m in places, and is known as one of the best
sand beaches in Europe. It is flat, covered with fine golden sand. The sandy
sea bottom gently slopes into the sea, there are no rocks or sudden drops.
The clean and calm
waters of the sea with low salinity lower than that of the Mediterranean for
example, and the absence of fish and animals dangerous to human health, are
ideal for scuba diving and vacationing with children. The cultural and
information center in the complex offers a rich and versatile concert program,
folk music performances and shows in the open. It organizes exhibitions of
Bulgarian artists, courses in the Bulgarian language, folk songs and dances,
vanguard fashion shows. You can take part in beauty contests, beer festivals, a
parade of retro cars, to mention but a few. You can enjoy the performances at
the International Varna Summer Festival of opera, ballet, theater and jazz
music, folklore and others.
There are also many disco clubs, bars and restaurants which will provide you
with lots of fun and unforgettable nights. Besides the entertainment and
