At 25km distance from the sea capital of Bulgaria- Varna, is situated a piece of haven with rare combination of dense forests, river and sea. Unique dense forests in the biosphere reserve Kamchia combined with the vast dunes of the protected area with the same name are making this corner of the Black Sea Coast between Varna and Bourgas a great place for relaxation, recreation and sport. Through the complex flows the Kamchia River, creating lush vegetation, majestic forest of gigantic trees overgrown with vines, leading to a fresh air as a combination of forest and sea. The first known name of the river is Panisos and later the Slavs called it Ticha, while the present name of the river has Kouman origin. In the antiquity the Romans had built a fortress on the left bank of the river, which was called “Erite”.
Nowadays built complex is divided into two parts by the river mouth – Kamchia north and Kamchia south. The resort is relatively new, with about 10 hotels from 2, 3 and 4 star category, some of which offer "all inclusive" service.
The whole area can satisfy the most pretentious nature lovers. Starting from a natural forest park Kamchia with its dense forest and getting to the Black and White Capes, it’s as if the words are not sufficient to describe the beauty of the area. Biosphere reserve Kamchia with his inimitable variety has a unique appeal for all photographers and nature lovers. The park includes more than 40 species and plants among which are dominating the Polish ash, the so rare elm, lianas, ivy and others. In the hard to reach human marshy estuaries and parts of the reserve, reigns the extremely rare and enlisted in the Red Book (Red List of Threatened Species) marsh snowdrop and white and yellow water lilies. The birds and animals are not of a less interest – 39 fish species and 156 find there ecological niche in Kamchia Reserve, which allows the visitors to catch a glimpse of the sea eagle or owl, black stork or heron… For those seeking a meeting with the wildlife, the friendly hosts are providing a rare opportunity to have a boat trip over one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe – Kamchia. Falling on the boat further into the river surrounded by wild climbing plans you will experience the feeling that you are in the Amazon jungle. Here you can find a hospitable fishing village where you can hear the local old stories and taste the remarkable fish soup and different seafood delicacies. Although the nature dominates in the resort, when it comes to infrastructure it is as good as any other resort on Black Sea coast:
Although the resort dominates nature with regard to infrastructure, he gave nothing to the larger urban resorts on our coast: Regular buses to neighboring towns and resorts, restaurants offering Bulgarian and European cuisine, fast food, cafeterias, bars, disco clubs, pubs and shops. Water attractions include water skiing, surfing, scooters jet ski, fishing, boating and yachting, beach volleyball, tennis and many other entertainments for the guests.
