Russalka is a Bulgarian seaside resort situated in the unique natural reserve "Bird's Bay" (a.k.a. Tauk firth and Nanevska Tuzla) north of the cape. It is located 20 km east of Kavarna, 35 km from Balchik and 90 km from Varna.
It is situated near the famous sites Yailata and Kaliakra capes. The resort is surrounded by picturesque forest, and nature as unique as each reserve.
The resort does not have hotels and offers comfortable accommodation in 600 houses.
Russalka is famous for its exotic beauty of its coastline. Extremely beautiful jerky rocky coast, small secluded sandy beaches, ancient oaks and other plant species attract millions of birds and make "Bird Bay" an oasis of untouched nature for centuries. Near the resort there are mineral springs with a temperature of 32 degrees.
Besides the amazing nature, the area also has a rich history, evidenced for which are the numerous archaeological finds. Between the rock terraces are scattered caves with different depths and form, the most beautiful of them are located in the highest part of Taukliman and they have picturesque names like Big Maara, Dark Hole, Aragonitovata cave and Eye of the Needle. Studies show that the caves in the area were inhabited, and probably they were used as sanctuaries by the Thracians, Greeks, Romans and Slavs. There are remains of medieval settlements, circular stone facilities used for the production of wine, Byzantine fortress from the V century and parts of an early Byzantine fort.
The Russalka is modeled after the French Club Mediterraneo with "all inclusive" service: There are bars, bistros, restaurants and pubs, some of which are included, and some are subject to additional charge.
Sports and entertainment are also part of the resort, offering numerous attractions. The fifteen tennis courts attract amateurs and professionals. Sports facilities include volleyball and mini football pitches, gymnasium, table tennis. Yacht club has 15 boats and 15 canoes. The complex offers horseback riding and diving school.
