Sinemorets is a village in southeastern Bulgaria, close to the borders with Republic of Turkey. It is located at 5 km distance from town of Ahtopol and 85 km from Bourgas. It sprawls its lands among a small peninsula south from the Creek of Veleka River, on the territories of an old Thracian settlement. The village has extremely optimum geographical location, but because of a ceaseless pirate raids, its population had remained small and it didn’t reach the heights of a trade center. In the past the village had brought several names including the current one and all of them originate from the Greek word “galaza”, which means “sky-blue”. In the surroundings of Sinemorets are found many artifacts, mounds and fortress.
The main branches were the agriculture, hunting and fishing, but nowadays these fields had left behind, because of the well developing tourism in the area. The place “Polyanite”, which is located eastern from the village, possesses several hotels and many private villas.
There are no bars or disco clubs, but therefore there are several restaurants offering traditional Bulgarian dishes. There are no crowds of tourists in Sinemorets, because of that the destination has peaceful and quiet atmosphere and its beauty is overwhelming. The northern beach of the village is gorgeous frontage- “spit”, which is formed by the estuary of Veleka River. The cove “St. Janie” is situated northeast from the village and it has a fishing port and rocky locality called “The ships”, name which originates from a local legend, that the old and unneeded ships were crashed in it. The south territories between Sinemorets and Rezovo villages are natural reserve called “Silistar”. The area is a coastal wet zone with typical dense forest. On the dunes and the cliffs around Silistar are nesting rare and preserved birds. The virgin nature in the area gives wonderful conditions for the well developing ecotourism. The routs for ecotourism in the forest are getting more and more and when you go on then you’ll have the opportunity to become familiar with the Strandzha Mountain’s treasure of animals and plants, and also to enjoy the unforgettable view throughout special places for rest and observing. The village also possesses stables, which offers horse riding of any kind, along with walk with a pony or phaeton. Excursions are also organized in Sinemorets, boat trips along the river and excursions to the archeological sites in the surroundings are organized everyday.
The destination is wonderful choice for calm family holiday.
