Sunny Beach is situated on the South Black Sea coast on picturesque bay with the form of half-moon. It shares borders with two other resorts: St. Vlas and Nessebar, also the distance between Sunny Beach and Bourgas is 40km. 

It has huge seafront with the length of 10km and width reaching 80-100m. for whose maintenance the people are making great efforts and that brings to Sunny Beach the prestigious prize of “Blue Flag” – recognition for well kept ecologically clean environment.

The History of the resort dates back from 1957 when the planning began. The build-up measures started in the following 1958 and the official opening of the resort took place at 1959. For the period 1959-1989 more then 7.6 million tourist went through Sunny Beach and more then 5 million of them were foreigners.

The crazy development of the resort makes him the biggest on the Bulgarian sea coast. The massive construction almost connected it with the situated south of him new part of the town of Nessebar.
The climate in the region is especially good for sea tourism and active holiday. The multitude of sunny days on the territory of the resort had brought him the name Sunny Beach. The new and the repaired old hotels are waiting their guests with their first class service. Also lots of nice restaurants, great number of bars and disco clubs make Sunny Beach the most preferred place for holiday amongst the youngsters. Its location makes it also a wonderful choice for people who love history and are looking for nice excursions. As we said the resort is connected to the town of Nessebar whose old part is a member of UNESCO and it’s one of the most important destinations in Bulgaria due his richness of archeological finds. Besides Nessebar also St. Vlas, Elenite are close to the resort and only at 8 km distance is the town of Pomorie.

Water skiing, surfing, parachuting, paragliding, yachting, tennis, beach volley, mini golf, rowing, bowling and lots of others sports can make the seekers of excitement happy.

Between 1967 and 1999 here was conducted international fest for popular song “The Golden Orpheus”. By tradition every single year days of the symphonic music are organized which are part of international folklore festival also fashion reviews and beach competitions can diversify your holiday.
