Spa Hotel Elbrus is located in
the west part of Velingrad close to one of the main roads in the town.
Velingrad itself is situated on the border between the Pirin and Rhodope
mountains, 49 km from Pazardjik, 85 km from Plovdiv and 133 km from
Sofia.
Description
Spa Hotel Elbrus is a classic three-star hotel with many years

Accommodation
Twin Room - Spa Hotel Elbrus provides 47
twin rooms divided into Type 1 and Type 2. All rooms are furnished with
two single beds, which may be joined to form one double bed if the
guests wish so. The in-room facilities include central heating, TV set
with cable television, telephone, private bathroom with shower and a
balcony with a magnificent view of the Rhodope. The room rate of for
room Type 1 varies from 48 to 54 leva per night, while the one for room
Type 2 varies from 55 to 62 leva per night. The room rates include
breakfast and free use of parking, fitness, indoor swimming pool and
fitness at the hotel.
Apartment - Spa Hotel Elbrus offers seven
apartments. One part of them consists of a separate bedroom and a cozy
living room with a coffee table and an extending sofa, which may sleep
one or two additional guests. The rest of the apartments are three-room
apartments and consists of a twin room, a double room and a living room.
The amenities in every apartment comprise of a TV set with cable
television, telephone, central heating, private bathroom with shower,
mini bar, balcony overlooking the mountain. The rate per night for a
two-room apartment varies from 80 to 90 leva, while the one for a
three-room apartment varies from 90 to 100 leva per night. The rates
include breakfast and free use of indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, fitness
and parking at the hotel.
Health
Not only the spa center but the whole Hotel Elbrus uses
the mineral water directly from the Velyova banya spring. The water from
this spring is suitable for rehabilitation and treatment of different
disorders of the locomotory system, the kidneys, the digestive system.
Among the many spa services most preferred are the spa capsule, the
treatments with sea extracts, the Roman bath, the jacuzzi tub, the
Finnish sauna, the pearl bath, the whirlpool bath, the classic, hot
stone and aroma massages. The spa center also includes a solarium and a
modern fitness center. Various spa packages are available throughout the
whole year. For the guests of Spa Hotel Elbrus are also provided one
12-meter long indoor swimming pool and one 25-meter long outdoor pool,
both using curative mineral water.
Restaurant
Restaurant Elbrus will offer
to its guests pleasant atmosphere, impeccable service and varied menu
with international and Bulgarian specialties. The restaurant capacity is
100 seats. For thei favorite drink the guests of Spa Hotel Elbrus must
visit the day bar with 40 seats, a summer garden and a barbecue corner
located right along the side of the outdoor swimming pool.
Business
The
business visitors of Spa Hotel Elbrus may use the fully equipped
conference hall with 65 seats. For the children is provided a safe
playground with swings and sleighs. To the lovers of active rest and

Activities
The region of Velingrad has
been inhabited for thousands of years. Some of the legends say that
Orpheus used to live here and that this land has given the might
strength of the unbeatable Spartacus. Once here were located some of the
most important shrines of the Thracian tribe Bessi, which have left
lots of necropolises, mounds, fortresses. From the ages when the Romans
ruled the Rhodope region are found remnants of mineral water pipes,
marble plates and others. But Velingrad remains mostly known as the spa
capital of Bulgaria. The wealth of healing mineral water springs (more
than 80 in number), magnificently beautiful nature and wonderful climate
turn this town into a favorite spot for vacation and rehabilitation.

Velingrad is situated in the region of Pazardjik district – in the North - west part of Rhodopa Mountain. At 1948 the administration of three villages – Ladzhene, Chepino and Kamenitsa took a decision for unification. That is the birthday of the famous balneological resort Velingrad. After the unification Velingrad become a leading cultural, economic and administrative center in the region of North-West Rhodopi. The town itself was named after Vela Peeva, a female partisan leader born there and killed during the partisan uprisings of the mid-40es of last century.
Situated in the picturesque Chepino valley, roundabout venerable oaks and pine-trees, Velingrad is the most popular place for rest and medication in Bulgaria. It is also famous with its perfect climatic conditions – an open winter and cool summer. Thanks to the unique natural resources, Velingrad is a place for development of tourist business. Here you can find a lot of luxury hotels, SPA centers and private guest houses, where you can spend your vacation.
At present, the town lives mostly on tourism and wood processing. The 80 mineral springs, mild climate and beautiful nature create ideal conditions for recreational tourism. The temperature of the springs varies from 220 to 900. While all three quarters of Velingrad have mineral waters, the Chepino one accounts for about half of the town’s water resources. The mineral water of Velingrad combines the curative qualities of other mineral water-rich areas in Bulgaria, such as Hissar, Banya and Narechenski Bani. The springs are used for treatment of illnesses of the motive system, the stomach and the intenstinal tract, liver, skin, etc.
Together with the numerous mineral waters Velingrad takes pride in another natural phenomenon as well – the Kleptuza. This is the biggest Karst spring in Bulgaria with debit of 580-1200 litres per second of ice-cold water per second. A beautiful lake with restaurants and a small park lies close to the spring. On the other hand, the most visited man-made sight is the old church of Kamenitsa, St Trinity, built in 1816 and recently renovated and re-painted.
The surrounding nature of Velingrad is the right place for picknicks and excursions.
In the resort successfully are treated a lot of pulmonary cases: pulmonary emphysema, chronic bronchitis, post bronchial pneumonia, etc. The treatment of non-specific diseases of the respiratory tract is particularly successful. Considerable experience has been accumulated in the efficient treatment of diseases of the locomotive system, nervous diseases and gynecological disorders.
Those who are interested in fishing can visit the numerous lakes and reservoirs around Velingrad – Dospat, Belmeken, Batak and so on.
